Medically, we had a pretty good experience, but again staffing can be a challenge. Overall, given all the big issues in nursing homes, I think you should definitely check out Amberwood. They have heart & caring, do some things extremely well, are solid in the range of services they offer, and try to do the right thing.

The food seemed decent, hot & on time & even have a cool Korean/Asian food option due to the many Korean residents. But Amberwood’s strength is in some of their exceptional staff, for sure. My mother was in the skilled nursing wing of Montage Hills. The nurses, particularly Sowet and Genet, are very good. No one helped my mother brush her teeth, and spills could stay around for a day before they were cleaned up. The food was atrocious, big ugly piles of unidentifiable meat and mashed potatoes with yellow gravy.
